This position supports Cash Applications’ Unclaimed Property Research and Compliance support. The primary function of this position is to perform Unclaimed Property research and provide documentation utilizing multiple tools/resources and requires working with internal company and external contacts.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform Unclaimed Property research and provide documentation utilizing multiple tools/resources. This position requires proven analytical and quantitative skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy. Additional responsibilities include supporting payment team when needed by completing reconciliations of customer payments which requires pulling and formatting data from various sources, both internal and external, populating the reconciliations which have been created in Excel, and researching any variances.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Required
  • 2-4 years experiences in Accounting or Finance related functions with emphasis on Unclaimed Property preferred
  • Excellent communication, writing, and grammar skills; attention to detail
  • Strong working knowledge in MS Office with an emphasis on Excel
  • Experience with SAP
  • Ability to work in groups and teams to identify issues and solve problems. Communicate with other stakeholders as necessary
  • Have a strong work ethic, highly motivated and work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work on several priorities at a given time
Preferred
  • 1 year in Telecommunications industry preferred
  • Experience in compliance and regulatory filings
  • Proven leadership and coaching ability
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service to our customers and business partners; ability to collaborate within and outside of department
  • Apply independent judgment with follow-up to customers and business partners to determine direction
  • Identify and solve problems creatively; ability to think beyond immediate consequences
  • Working knowledge of SQL including modifying simple queries

BA/BS or equivalent experience
4 years’ experience in a financial analysis role

Managers (at least mine) actually listened to and advocated for their employees. Great pay. Nice perks. Good culture -- people didn't seem miserable.

As with any big company, can take a while for things to get done. Lots of layers, etc. But definitely moves faster than other big companies I've worked for.

Advice to Management

Don't advance those mid- to senior mgrs who just go through the motions. Do more to keep smart, talented people on board.
