The Branded Retail Finance team is seeking a technically skilled, analytical minded leader with excellent communication skills and a strong desire to drive efficiency and deliver value.

The ideal candidate will be able to effectively manage multiple investigations while maintaining clear and concise reporting on existing promotions and sales trends. The Sr. Analyst will be comfortable in an environment where requirements change rapidly and is prepared to change directions on short notice. A fresh perspective or new take on ideas will be greatly appreciated and will be generally sought after from the successful candidate. Good data collection practices are required in this role – particularly the ability to write custom SQL queries against a large data warehouse. The ability to create reports in a concise meaningful manner is also highly valued.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary function of the candidate is to support reporting and analysis for T-Mobile device promotions. Reporting on device promotions requires development of SQL code to track promotions as well as the evaluation of query logic from other teams. The candidate will analyze the financial impacts and performance of the promotional activity. Flexibility and adaptability are a key characteristic for any T-Mobile analyst as roles and responsibilities continually adjust with the needs of our dynamic business!

Qualifications
Minimum Required
  • 5+ years in Business Analysis, Marketing Analytics or Financial Planning & Analysis roles
  • 3+ year experience writing SQL against large relational databases (Teradata and Microsoft SQL Server preferred but not required)
  • Proven ability to communicate complex concepts and analyses in a clear and concise manner to peers, business partners and managers
  • Proficiency building relationships with cross functional teams that promote bi-directional communication and partnership
  • Ability to work independently and with limited supervision while manage multiple priorities and setting appropriate expectations.
Desired
  • 4+ years creating operational reports, performance measurement dashboards or scorecards, and variance analysis trends.
  • Proficiency in data mining and analytics software (SQL, SAS, or R)
  • Experience building visual analytics and dashboard creation in Tableau, PowerBI or similar environment
Education
Minimum Required
  • Bachelors Degree. Finance, Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred

As with any big company, can take a while for things to get done. Lots of layers, etc. But definitely moves faster than other big companies I've worked for.

Advice to Management

Don't advance those mid- to senior mgrs who just go through the motions. Do more to keep smart, talented people on board.
